Hailing from South London’s Croydon, this weeks music pick comes courtesy of UK’s very own rising star: Raye.

At the tender age of 18, Raye has recently released her single ‘‘Distraction’from her upcoming EP Back 2 The Winter. It’s the perfect blend of song writing, unique production and a strikingly rich and mature singing voice. She will instantly intrigue your ears!

The song took me three listens before I finally hit stop. I then did a trawl of her Soundcloud only to discover her first EP Welcome To The Winter released last year. My personal repeat favourites are Need Me and Just Like That. They made for the perfect background soundtracks, the kind you can zone out to or focus with on a task.

After already working with the likes of; Emeli Sandé, Stormzy and Wretch 32, there’s no doubt that Raye has a massive future awaiting her. All that’s left to say is…Bring on the new EP!
