Social Media networking 2

Social media has become more than posting about what you had for breakfast or showing off the dress you wore out to your best friends birthday meal over the weekend, its become a MASSIVE networking tool for people in business.

While face-face networking is still important and effective for creating rapport with people, if you’re like me where sometimes you’ve been too busy to make it out to events, social media is a great way to continue building contacts for your business and projects.

Here are five hashtag’s you can start with…

1. #TargetsNoticeBoard

TNB SG
Useful for:
Music networking
Platform:
Twitter

#TargetsNoticeBoard was created by BBC 1 Xtra Presenter DJ Target to connect producers, musicians, singers, songwriters and MC’s through Twitter.

Here’s how you use it:

1.       Say who you are and what you do.

2.       Say who you want to collaborate with.

3.       Put a stream link to your music so other artists can hear what you sound like without any long download links.

Every week, Target plays some of the best music on the NoticeBoard on the radio. So far, BBC 1 Xtra have had several full length collaborations as a result of the hashtag. It’s not just up-and-coming artists who check out the hashtag either, everyone from Radio 1’s Skream and Toddla T to MCs like Benny Banks, Wiley and Wretch 32 check it out too.
