Dear Esha,
It was certainly no mistake when The Voice newspaper crowned you‘Super Mum of the Year’(2013)
Over the last 22 years I have had the privilege of looking up to a passionate, dedicated and devoted mother of three and a wife of 34 years. You have not only helped to build a strong family unit within our home, but you have extended your love and compassion to serve the needs of young people in the community. Your door is never closed to any young person in need and your cupboards have never been restricted to those who have been hungry and in need of food. You are truly an inspiration and if a ‘mother’s love’ had a definition you would definitely be the meaning. Everything you have ever done has always been about benefiting others, from writing and self-publishing your first poetry book – My Lover, My King & I (2008)to founding The West Midlands Annual Celebrating Youth Excellence Awards, where you put your hand in your pocket to recognise the positive contributions of young people, parents and organisations in the community. I am honestly so proud of you Mom, just for being courageous, bold and a leader. I love the way you can command a room with your presence alone, how you empower and motivate people at your creative workshops around schools, colleges, Universities, and churches. I love your ‘no-nonsense’approach to how people treat you. However what I love most about you is the fact that secretly you’re really just a big kid – you laugh like a 2-year-old being tickled, you have THE BEST one liners which pierce my sides and you are one of the silliest people I know (hence why you feel its appropriate to run into my room at stupid o’clock hours dancing like you are auditioning for X-Factor).
Mom you are my rock and I honestly don’t know what I would do without you. 400 words is not even enough to sum up the place you hold in my heart.
I thank you for the foundation you have given me. I thank you for helping to create who and what I am today. I thank you for all the time(love)you have invested in me.
I don’t care if you never make a name for yourself because you have created something far more special than that – a ‘selfless’ mother’s legacy.
I love you.
