Ever forgotten your password to something, I know, pain right? Let me introduce you to the phenomenal teen entrepreneur Nina Devani, Founder of Prompt-Me-Nina, an app designed to save you from the next password forgetting frenzy!

At just 14-year’s-old Nina Devani is CEO of DevaniSoft, a software design and development company, making her one of the youngest entrepreneurs in the UK!

Where did you get the inspiration for Prompt Me Nina?
My dad’s Facebook account was actually hacked and he used to keep the same passwords for multiple accounts. So when he changed them all and couldn’t remember any, I took the opportunity to come up with a new idea to help him and many others who face the same problem.

How does the app work?
Prompt Me Nina lets users set reminders for each of their passwords to their online accounts, without actually disclosing their real password to anyone. This means people can set different passwords for every account without the worry of forgetting them; because they can set reminders that they can choose themselves to pop up when they go onto that specific website.

Which passwords do you personally forget the most?
It would normally be the accounts I don’t log into as frequently as others, such as online clothes shopping sites.

We love the design of the app by the way! How did you come up with it?
I wanted to keep the design colourful, simple and easy to navigate so that as many people as possible could benefit from it. I went through quite a few designs and had to make a number of changes before I decided on the final design. I wanted to make it catchy and so came up with the phrase ‘Prompt Me Nina’.

How do you manage to balance the life of school with running a business?
I am quite an organised person so I manage to get my schoolwork done quickly and efficiently, as well as making use of my free periods at school to complete any homework. I then have part of my evening free for any business related work as well as some time on the weekends.

Did you face any particular challenges with starting up your business, if so what were they?
Initially, I feel people found it hard to take a fourteen-year-old schoolgirl seriously, but once I met them and discussed my ideas with them, I proved that I had the determination to succeed. I also had to find the right people to help me, such as developers and investors, but after doing the right research, preparation and planning, I found what I was looking for and managed to secure the funding I needed.

When you leave school, do you plan on going into higher education or run the business full time?
I plan to go into higher education to study a-levels next year and hopefully go to university as well as continuing with my ventures.

What advice can you give to a Skool Girl?
I firmly believe there is some genius in everyone, so don’t be afraid to take risks. When you first start it can seem impossible, but once you get going then problems seem that much easier to conquer and your dream seems more achievable and real.
