HighTide Exclusive Casting Opportunity – Let the Light of Day Through, 18+
HighTide is looking to cast two IdeasTap members in a rehearsed reading of Let the Light of Day Through by Collin Doyle. They will be paid £100 for their work.
Let the Light of Day Through tells the story of thirty-something couple Rob and Chris who have the “perfect” childless marriage – complete with passion, excitement, and pleasure. Six years ago, however, Rob and Chris were Bobby and Tina. Bobby and Tina started dating at school. They are each other’s first date, first kiss, first love. But at 16, Tina got pregnant and their world changed. Funny and touching, this inventive new play explores the struggles, battles, love, laughter, and fear that long-term relationships are built on.
The performance itself will take place at 12pm on Monday 24 November at HighTide’s London offices. Casting will take place on Friday 7 November at HighTide’s London HQ. The reading will be directed by Daniel Raggett, assistant director on Headlong’s 1984 and Romeo and Juliet.

HighTide Exclusive Casting Opportunity – HeteROgeny, 18+
HighTide is looking to cast three IdeasTap members in a rehearsed reading of HeteROgeny by Mona Bozdog. They will be paid £100 for their work.
HeteROgeny is based on interviews with Romanian students about home in Romania, home in the UK, and the dreaded UKBA [UK Border Agency]. They’re coming to the UK in search of their ‘holy grail’ – football for some, culture for others, tall men in clean-cut suits for others. This is a play that shows that prejudices and preconceptions are never a one-way street. It is a glance beyond the façade of diversity and multiculturalism and into the face of nationalism and xenophobia.
The performance itself will take place at 12pm on Tuesday 25 November at HighTide’s London offices. Casting will take place on Friday 7 November at HighTide’s London HQ. The reading will be directed by Caitlin McLeod, director of The Malcontent by John Marston at Shakespeare’s Globe and this year’s Escalator Plays performance at the HighTide Festival.
