Julien Blanc may say that “romping through the street just grabbing girls.” is “awesome.” but I would DEFINITELY disagree.
For those of you who don’t know Julien Blanc, he is a “dating guru” from the US who teaches men to harass women in order to have sex with them – Gross right?
In one of his seminars, Mr Blanc is seen going up to girls and forcing their heads towards his crotch. In the same video, he gives advice on ‘picking up’in Japan and says “At least in Tokyo, if you’re a white male, you can do what you want,”
REALLY?!So get this, Mr Blanc is supposed to be touring the UK next February, but a petition has been created to deny him a visa and so far it has more than 150,000 signatures!
Mr Blanc apologised and said his intention was “a horrible attempt at humour” taken out of context – it’s nice to know that the vulnerability of women is such a big joke.
You can also see the #ChokingGirlsAroundTheWorld on Twitter, which apparently shows pictures of Mr Blanc with his hand around women’s throats – by the way these are pictures he’s already shared himself.
Regardless of how “harmless”Mr Blanc’s intentions are, myself along with 150,000 others are not amused at his poor attempt of trying to being “funny” – ESPECIALLYwhen it concerns the safety and well being of women all over the world!
What kind of message is this sending out to young men?
Is it now acceptable for them to disrespect women by inappropriately putting their hands on them?
UK Feminista says:’ 1 in 2 boys think it is ok sometimes to hit a woman or force her to have sex.
“1 in 3 teenage girls have experienced sexual violence from a boyfriend.
“If girls experience repeated sexual harassment, they are significantly more likely to attempt suicide.”
And this is exactly why “jokers”like Mr Blanc should not be allowed into the UK or anywhere else for that matter.
I don’t know what’s worse, the thought of knowing that thousands of people are taking advice from this guy or the fact that they are spending THOUSANDS of pounds to do it! If it only takes a hashtag to start a global trend, the same can be done in this type of situation.
Skool Girls, if you have read this article please, please, please remember this…It is totally not acceptable for a guy to put his hands on you without your permission. Whether it’s sexual violence or hitting you, it’s just NOT okay and if you are currently in this type of situation, I seriously am advising you to get out and get help, like now!
