When was the last time you made some noise for your progression?
I bet if I asked you the last time you beat yourself up about the fact you don’t believe you’re where your “supposed to be” in life you could give me a straightforward answer…probably including date, time and what you were wearing in that moment of contemplation.
Life is so selfish, can you imagine that it passes us by whether or not we are happy, sad, content, choose to enjoy it, embrace it or loathe, regret and resent every minute God sends us? It can be quite disconcerting to know that regardless of whether we choose to enjoy our lives or not, time has no loyalty to us and it will continue to pass you by anyway. So my question to you is what are you going to do with your time?
With rapid technological advancements and social media growth we have become too busy to care about the steps we have taken to get to where we are today, whether they are HUGE or tiny, a step in the right direction is still a step forward and something you should celebrate. However our constant obsession to compare ourselves to our neighbour or people in the media often leaves us feel undervalued, under appreciated and under achieving.
In the words of Corinne Bailey Rae I have learnt to ‘light my own fire’exactly where I am. We spend more time waiting for the world’s validation than actually going out there and achieving great things just because we can. Don’t wait for the world’s round of applause or Instagram likes before you take notice of your own great and wonderful achievements; learn to BIG UP YUH SELF!
What I’m saying is your ‘doing OK’and its perfectly normal to feel frustrated because you’re super ambitious and strive to be the best that you can be, but remember to also appreciate where your at and embrace your‘2000 and now’.
A few things that remind me to do this:
Wretch 32 ‘Doing OK’
So this month is all about‘Progression’and making noise about your gradual development. Life is better when its not forced, stop trying to make‘fetch’ happen and just live.
Its all love SG’s.
